Chef Akiyama is an accomplished sushi chef, Kaiseki cuisine chef, and sake sommelier.

 

She is an alumnus of Sushi Academy Tokyo and the Edo Kaiseki Yanagihara Culinary School.

Her school, Buddha Bellies Cooking School, has ranked by Tripadvisor as number one on the “Things to Do in Tokyo” list. She teaches more than 1,300 students in the Japanese culinary arts annually.
