Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn helms the award-winning restaurant, Le Du, in Bangkok. “Le Du” comes from a Thai word that means “season” and reflects the restaurant’s focus on seasonal products. Le Du’s a la carte and tasting menus feature the extraordinary agricultural bounty of Thailand and are founded on the centuries-old culinary cultures that have taken root here. Le Du also prides itself on a carefully curated wine list to match its cuisine.
Before opening Le Du, Chef Ton hadworked a variety Michelin-starred restaurant - such as Eleven Madison Park, The Modern and Jean Georges in New York City. He received his foundational training from the Culinary Institute of America and earned an MBA in Hospitality from Johnson & Wales University in the United States. In addition, Chef Ton is one of only five Thai nationals to earn the designation of Certified Sommelier (CS) from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
